What the levels mean
The City of Venice tide centre (Centro Previsioni e Segnalazioni Maree) uses these classes for high tides:
- Normal: below +80 cm.
- High (marea sostenuta): from +80 to +109 cm.
- Very high (marea molto sostenuta): from +110 to +139 cm.
- Exceptional (alta marea eccezionale): +140 cm and above.
