Bus and metro strikes in Italy: guaranteed hours
During local transport strikes, buses, trams and metro still run at set times. Here is where to find them for each city.
Local transport strikes (city buses, metro, trams, water buses) last 4 hours or 24 hours. During a 24-hour strike each company must guarantee service in two time windows, six hours in total under the national agreement, usually around the morning commute and part of the afternoon or evening. The exact hours are different in every city and are published by the company at least five days before the strike.

Taxis are not normally affected by bus and metro strikes, but they are in high demand on those days.
Local transport has its own strike-free periods, and two strikes affecting the same area must be at least 20 days apart (rules on notice and spacing).
